Probably, Maurice, since tape recorders were very expensive in 1949. The site doesn't give any information about that. The filmmaker, Marcel Second made a few other sound 9,5 films later (but most of his amateur films were silent, or, at least survived silent) and those had a narration, so probably recorded on a separate tape but meanwhile, in the '50s, he worked for the television as a cameraman and had to buy himself his own materail (other times...) so he may have bought a tape recorder for this occasion (but that's only a guess I do). I assume the 9.5mm film was silent and originally projected with 78 record accompaniment.
