More good news for the 9.5! It is once again possible to have your films striped professionally. Who would have dreamed of that? Alberto Vangelisti, in Italy, who has a very efficient machine, has been offering striping in 8mm, super 8 and 16mm for several years, to everyone's satisfaction. This machine has just been adapted to also be able to stripe 9.5 films. The process used is that of a liquid track applied directly to the film. The risk of detachment of the stripe, as sometimes happens with the stuck-on magnetic track, is therefore absent here. Everyone who has tested the work done in Italy (for all formats, including 9.5) is very satisfied with it. The sound obtained is very good. Alberto is the only one who is able, thanks to his process, to also stripe on polyester film (rarer in 9.5, but sometimes used for leader tape). The sound on a magnetic track present directly on the film therefore allows more certain preservation of the sound accompaniment but also facilitates the projection of films at festivals or public screenings (there are fewer and fewer of them, but, fortunately, they still exist), the projector used very often being sound. Obviously, if you have your own 9.5 sound projector which allows recording, new perspectives of presentations of silent films with sound editing open up to you, especially since there is a lot of music, songs etc on the Internet and it is relatively easy to connect a computer output to some projectors. There is no reason to deprive yourself of this new pleasure, especially since the prices are more than reasonable for this professional service: €50 for a film length between 60 and 480 meters, €60 between 481 and 700 meters. .
