  • 9.5 show in London

The very dynamic cinemamuseum held a silent movies week-end (see https://8mmforum.film-tech.com/vbb/f...t-film-weekend) that ended with a 9.5 great moment. Forum member Christopher Bird did once again a great job.

An original Pathe Baby screen was used.

We then were lucky to have a projection made with a Specto upgraded with a hid lamp.

As for all the other films shown dshong the week-end, there has been a live pianist performance.

Dominique, it was a great pleasure to see you there, more so as you had come all the way from Brussels for this event. (By the way - my fault for speaking too fast - the Pathe Baby projector was adapted by Bryan Pearce, who was secretary of Group 9.5 for many years.) Here is a photo I took during the main show from behind the Specto. You can see the little Pathe Baby screen at the bottom right of the main screen, so you can see how much bigger we were projecting the 9.5mm image than Pathe originally intended. I would also like to thank Tony Saffrey for supplying the upgraded Specto. The pianist was Cyrus Gabrysch, who also played for the 9.5 Centenary show we did there in 2022. Fixed! Thanks a lot for that 9.5 event, Chris. I enjoyed the whole week-end and hope to be able to attend next year, again.

Thanks for the report of the event to both of you. As an old “dyed in the wool” 9.5er I would have loved to have been there, but at 90 years of age, one gets tired very quickly. I would be interested to know how many people turned up for the event.
