I’m looking for a nice 16mm print of the 1943 feature BELLS GO DOWN starring James Mason. Any help appreciated. Message me or my email is: bills16mmfilms@gmail.com. I am in the USA. Thank You, Bill Davis

Thank you Ed. I will put a “wanted” out on that title on a couple of sites and see if any responses. When I first started collecting 16mm in 1970 BELLS GO DOWN was the first feature I purchased (for $ 50.00) from National Cinema Service in NYC. I screened it many times as my collection was very small. Always enjoyed it. Foolishly I sold it decades ago and have always wanted it back. My print - which was near mint - had the BELLS GO DOWN title cards.

Bill, I enjoy those old movies, and these days we often get the chance to watch those old worn out prints we saw on TV now restored in high definition. I had never heard of this one and when I looked it up in IMDB I found the alternate US title. I hope you find a good 16mm print. In the meantime a "colorized" version is available on Youtube to watch.

Hi Ed, Thank you for the heads up on you tube - I will watch. I have probably watched this film 10 times - but many years ago. The print I had was like new. Bells Go Down is an excellent film on the London fire department during the London blitz. I enjoy the old WW 2 era films. Best regards, Bill Davis
