Would love to own a print of Harry Potter and the prisoner of Askeban, don’t know if this was ever released on 16mm.

    Phillip,

They do exist! Back in 2007 I won a 16mm print (LPP, adapted scope) of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on eBay. It was clearly mentioned that the last reel was bandsawed, however the previous owner had very patiently spliced the bandsawed film together, stopping right before the end credits. Those credits were supplied in a separate film can for me to continue the splicing, if I so desired. I didn't!
I sold the print a few years later.

Wow. Does that mean there were splices every few seconds?

Absolutely! Imagine a reel of film that has been cut in half. That's a lot of splicing!

Someone sold me a print of Orca the killer whale that was the same, the amount of time it must have taken them to stick it back together but it was totally unwatchable.
