  • Wanted: The wickerman

    Hi all

i know this is a tough one to get hold of but if anyone has a copy or a lead or anything please let me know what I need to give you to get a copy. I am happy to trade, trade and give money, give money and any organ I have.

has anyone even seen this available before actually. Anyone here have a copy? Be fascinated to know.

    best

I did actually come within a hair of buying a low fade print of this title recently. Sadly the seller said it has a strong whiff of Vinegar so i hastily turned it down. Once that stuff gets into your collection it's almost doomed. It's OK to say keep it well away but it does go through the projector so to me, it will set into other prints. A shame as it was apparently a fantastic looking print on screen.

That is such a shame. And I take it nothing can be done for it once VS has kicked in right? Can’t stop it or preserve the film etc?

It is about in 16mm as a full feature. Just a matter of searching and being lucky. Just like the search for the Maltese Falcon

Sadly Scott, as i understand it, once VS gets into a film its the beginning of the end, if not the end. This copy apparently projected fine but the smell was very strong even after leaving it in the open for a week. No matter how low the price, it's not something I would want anywhere near my films or projector's.
