  • Wanted: „7BF7B“

    Hi
I am still looking for a clean and colorful print of „Seven Brides For Seven Brothers“, scope or flat. But by „flat“ I don’t mean „pan and scan“, but the kind of print, which was extra made for this format for the cinemas which couldn’t offer a widescreen version.
    Maybe someone can help me…
    Regards
    Oliver

I think the term usually used is "Adapted widescreen" with black bars top and bottom giving widescreen but not full 2.35:1.

      Hi Oliver,
There is a copy of seven brides for seven brothers for sale in the Netherlands. I don't know if it is scope, pan & scan or widescreen.
      Could be worth checking out.

            Hi Oliver,
It was a pleasure to help. I saw it on the list a couple of months ago, and yesterday when you asked I looked it up to see if it was still available.
I have in the past purchased a couple of prints from the company, and have never had a problem. Everything is always as advertised.
Just curious, what ratio is it in ?

It’s flat. But I heard, that this film was made in 2 versions once: in the glorious scope ratio and in flat ratio for the movies without a scope screen. So technically it could be this version. No color fade, complete, no splices. I will keep You posted.
              Thanks again, Steve!!!!!!

                Dear Steve
Thank You again and again for Your help!
The print is amazing and (as I thought) the „full flat image“ without Pan&Scan.
Some little lines in the beginning, later the condition is more than very good.
The colors are superb and I am more than happy!
Thank You, thank You, thank You!
                Happy Easter,
                Oliver

                  Hi Oliver,
It's great news to know that everything has worked out well. It's always difficult when you point someone in the direction of something, and it goes horrible wrong.
The company is a very good business to know of, as they always have unusual items and film prints for sale, and they offer a good reliable service. But most of all at sensible affordable prices.
Again it was a pleasure to help.
                  Happy Easter and screenings.
                  Best regards.
                  Steve
