I own the AV 256-TR pageant and was thinking about getting a non-working model for replacement parts. Thing is, the 256 is a lot more rare than the 126 (especially at cheaper prices). So that got me thinking, does the 126 have the same parts? Obviously the amp is different, and a few other parts as well. But looking at their mechanics with online manuals it's hard to tell... Does anyone know if the actual projector pieces (gears and whatnot) are interchangable?

When I see Pageants of different models and to some extent different eras, there seems to be a lot of commonality among them. How far this goes, I can't promise.
I've been looking at Pageant AV 256-TR and it looks a great deal like the Pageant 250S I have even though the two models have at least a decade between them. The big difference I know is the 250S has the EJL lamp Vs. DDB/DDW for 256-TR.
-but I'd say at least down at the level of the frame, they look awfully close to each other, and the AV-126 as well.
I don't think it would be a huge gamble for you to get either a trashed 250S or AV-126, (-especially if it's cheap): yes there will be differences, but I'm betting you will be able to harvest quite a few useful spares.
I've heard that Pageants are difficult to work on. I can't say one way or another because I've never broken mine (-and I LIKE it that way!).
I look at this way: I'm used to working on cars: anything I can work on inside the house sitting down at the table that isn't covered with grease and road grime is an automatic plus!
