  • DIY Budget Scanner Build

    Hi all,

I'm building a budget scanner based on this genius of a man's idea, and I'm still chasing a 16mm film transport wheel which specifically has 1, 8, 10, 20, or 25 teeth!

My 12-teeth wheel is not successfully working unfortunately

    Cheers

I hate to ask, but are you intended to use flatbed scanner approach? It's essentially obsolete process to be honest.

There are lots of other frame-by-frame setup made of modified projector mechanics&digital camera around. Take a look at Film to Digital Conversion catagory. You might get some great idea there.

      Hi Nantawat,

No I won't be going through the flatbed scanner approach.

What I've already built is the automated system called the CineFrameCatcher (from the website I linked), which uses a stepper motor and arduino (or equivalent) boards.

      Thanks for your tip!
