  • Bolex S321

Recently, whilst using my 1970 Bolex S321 I was reminded just how good a valve amplifier can be. Transistorised amps work very well but when you hear a valve amp you can immediately appreciate how much better they sound.
    Not sure why.
Not bad for a 50 year old projector.

That's why most top end sound systems, like Quad, have reverted to using valves. They simply produce a better quality sound reproduction. My favourite projector is an RCA Hollywood because it is really quiet in operation and has a lovely old valve amp. Also in my opinion it looks like a Cine projector should and has a really solid build quality. Hardly any plastic.
