  • Buhl 16mm Projection Lens - help in identifying

I have a Buhl (52mm diameter barrel) projector lens with the markings "Buhl Optical Pittsburgh PA 1.0 f/1.4 cat. no. 803-410" that I am trying to identify.
Over the years I've had a large number of 16mm projectors that I've acquired, and I'm guessing this lens came from one of them.

Any ideas on the use for this? Is it rare?
    Thanks

I have several Buhl lenses. Mine fit Eiki projectors.

Hi Tom, I think its a 1inch lens, with a decent light aperture of 1.4.

They are usually very good and sharp, this fitting goes in to Bell and Howells and Meopta`s, and the odd other make too.

Will give you a twice as wide and twice as deep picture at the same distance as a 50mm std lens.

So 4 times the picture area.

      Buhls are good lenses.

Price in the UK for one of these is usally around £45-£70 -ish English.

      Best wishes Mark.
