  • Eastman EP

We are all accustomed to Kodak SP and Eastman LPP, but Eastman EP?
I have just bought a 1977 colour feature on 16mm with a stock date code of 1980. The perforations are all black, although the words "Eastman EP and the code of two squares can be seen.
I understand that it's Ektachrome, an excellent successor to Kodachrome. The colour quality is absolutely brilliant.

    Hi Maurice,

I've never seen this film stock in person.
What kind of optical soundtrack (assuming it's optical) does it have?

    From paulivester.com
"Most commonly used for camera originals for duplication or direct projection. Favorite of TV news crews in the magnetic sound version. Unusual on release prints."

      Can
Optical, with bi-lateral variable area. (Black & White).
It's Tony Curtis in "The Rise And Rise Of Casanova".
