  • ELF sound drum screw

I'm wanting to re-lubricate the bearings in the sound drum on a recently acquired ELF NT1 as I can hear a small noise from it when turning by hand. Am I correct in thinking that the screw circled will allow access, and that the shaft will come out via the operators side? I also hope that the solar cell stays in place and does not come out too. I am finding that screw very tight and as it is on a turning shaft it is difficult to deal with. For the moment I have put some fine oil on the screw to hopefully work down the thread. I wondered, if this is the way to access it, how others have dealt with it?Click image for larger version

Have a look at page 60 of the service manual.
It does seem that by loosening the screw on item 6 (set collar) the drum drum will pull off towards the operator.
