  • Camphor for V.S. Films?

Hi. A few months ago I heard about camphor being used to get rid of the vinegar smell in films. Does anyone know anything about that method and if it actually works?

At one time enthusiasts used metal cans with a clip inside which held a humidifying pad.
The pad had been sprinkled with a few drops of a solution which contained Camphor, Glycerol, Menthol, Ethyl Alcohol, plus various types of oil such as Eucalyptus.
The film had then to be stored in a cool place.
I seem to remember the smell.
No doubt such a solution could also disguise the smell of vinegar syndrome. But not to get rid of it.
