  • Facts About Projection

A nice 1959 film showing how to prepare a projection. Several 16mm projectors are shown (hence the 16mm section choosen) : Facts About Projection - YouTube

Nice video, thanks for posting. I spent my teenage years watching 16mm educational and sometimes features on an RCA Victor model. That is the one shown mostly in the video and is of a light avocado green colour, with the take-up reel at the bottom in front. It was an amazing projector with a valve amp and separate speaker box of course and we had to use a 220v to 110v step-down transformer too. I’d love to buy one of those today for nostalgic reasons…

For those members who do not know the Victor 16mm. It is unusual that the feed spool is at the back. There is also a tortuous film path. A very odd design.

Maurice, that is indeed an odd projector, but was not the one I was referring to. I was referring to the “RCA” which I thought also had the “Victor” label added.

          Very sorry, Xander
Of course, RCA Victor was a recording company, and in this country known as HMV (His Master's Voice)
I have an RCA Hollywood which runs on 240 volt mains without the need of a separate transformer.
