Thank you!
I recently picked this up but I am getting slightly confused trying to identify the actual model number. The plate has no model type on it. I did think it was an RM2 due to the controls, then I thought, ah maybe it is an RST then the more I looked the more lost I got.
Thanks maurice I had already looked at that and thought it was that one but them made the mistake of looking at the RM series and the some others and my brain jusst shut down.
I am of the opinion that this projector has been modified in some way or even built up from more than one.
My reason is the fact that the mains lead is captive which was as used in the earlier projectors, but it has a square handle which was used in the later projectors.
Also, it has the 250 watt lamp as used in the later projectors.
I have just found this pamphlet, it appears the NT series was a modular build that you could choose what you wanted when you purchased the unit. The picture here looks like mine with the exception of the cinemascope lens and the colour of the control panel plate and a lack of decals. I have also just got the NT service manual and it seems to support this.
I think I am going to call it an NT. I just have to decide what model. This will depend on the sound system side of it. If I am incorrect on this someone please let me know.
I still think it's puzzing because although it's a good match to the NST series, the colour of the metal pate where the controls are, and the cavity below where the mains lead emerges, are like an RM. If you could kindly post a photo of the remote control, I'd be intrigued to see this, and does the fact that it's infra red mean it needs a battery and doesn't plug in anywhere? That's also a surprise, because the optional remotes that could be used with two 'last generation' Eikis had to be plugged in. Does your remote work well?
Be very careful Maurice, that way madness lies, that was my first thought, then the RM and then.. well then the more you look the more you want to change your mind. (There are an incorrect number of speakers for the RT / RM series though.)
I am in the middle of cleaning the outstide up but when I am done I will post more pictures including the Infra-Red set up. Meanwhile in the saga continues;
Aidrian,
The colour of the control plate is different (although the knobs are the same) and also the “Decals” showing the Run – Still Frame controls are missing. There is no silver threading sticker below the lens. The remote control is wireless and an Infra-Red receiver window is fitted in the front of the projector with an activation switch on the rear. The base is the same as an EX 3000 Machine. The identification plate does not have the black strip at the top with the model number and I cannot find a serial number. Thinking about it, perhaps the remote control system comes with a new projector back with the receiver fitted hence the lack of specific model details on the plate? The rest of the machine seems to match up with the NST/NT specs in the service manual. There was an old height adjustment knob in the case and a break in the base so I am wondering if the base was changed when the knob was? The unit seems to have been well looked after during its lifetime.
