Among my bits and pieces I found this valve which I believe is a voltage regulator for the valve amplifier of the GBL516 16mm projector and it looks to be unused. Can anyone confirm this and is it any use to anyone?

Yes.
The amplifier for the GeBescope L516 has a barretter. The heaters of its valves are all wired in series and the barretter acts as a current limiter.
