ELMO 16S top loop former problem

I have just picked up an elmo 16S which seems to run ok except the top loop former is not working properly as it looks like the two small metal parts (circled in red) either need to go the other side of the plastic part (circled in blue) or the plastic part needs to sit between the two metal parts. If anyone has one of these projectors or a similar one maybe they can have a look and let me know the position, thanks.

I once owned this, but sold it a few years ago.
Therefore what I remembered might be not as precise as it was. But if I'm not mistaken that metal piece is actually a tiny spring connected to that lower piece of the loop former. This would help pushing up this part to match with the upper former to guide the film into the gate.

How this spring attached to the lower guide had escaped from my memory however. But it should be quite self-explanatory once you disassemble this part out.
