Homemade clear leader

Hi everyone, I need clear leader for a camera-less animation project. I am aware of 'Hollywood Film Supplies' selling clear leader but it is very expensive and takes too long to ship to the UK.

It is my understanding that I can soak film in bleach to cause the emulsion to come off. Is this something people have tried? Is there anything I need to be wary of? Or are there any other methods you have used?

You may find the following link helpful. It does seem that bleach may be useful. But it does seem to emit chorine gas.
