    Hi

Does anyone have some tips or easy instructions on how to change the drive belts on an EIKI NT-2 16mm projectors

    Thanks

May I ask - round (o-ring) type, or poly-v belt type?

Hi John. Tools req: 1 Phillips screwdriver fairly chunky and one set of genuine belts. Beware of ebay most sold are way too thin.

      Spool arms.
Remove the screws from the front of each arm and put covers to one side.
On the rear of the arms you will have to loosen one screw to allow you to fit the belt over the drive.
With old belts off clean any debris off with some Isopropanol. Really old belts go gooey so you will need to clean that off with a dry cloth first.
Slip over the new belts and replace screws.

LEAVE YOUR PROJECTOR UN PLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.

Internal drive belts in the back.
You have two to replace which differ slightly in size which you can clearly see.
The main drive belt is the bigger and you have a choice of 2 drives to slip it over depending on what speed you want.

The toothed big belt should be good as I've never had to change one yet.

If you are in the UK and get stuck for belts I have new stock, but do be wary of those cheap thin belts which are not designed for the rigours of driving a Elf Eiki projector.

      Enjoy your Elf.

Here are some interesting details of the Eiki/Elf projectors, including positioning of the drive belts.

Just started working on this - but the take up arm appears to have a metal belt. Is this right ?
