Hello everyone, I recently got back into collecting 16mm films. I bought a Kodak Pageant AV-126-TR from Ebay. When I set the switch to forward the supply reel turns in reverse. Also I have to forcibly hold the switch all the way forward for the lamp to stay lit. The lamp lights up when I put the switch in reverse. I'm totally in no man's land! If anyone could please offer me a suggestion I would appreciate it very much! Thanks!!

Hi David,
I have a Pageant 250S. To date I've never had any trouble with mine, so I can't really be of much help to you here, but if it was my machine, I'd be looking for the switch that lights/extinguishes the lamp and seeing what the interaction is with the main control lever and if there is some adjustability in it. Maybe there is a slight misalignment that prevents the switch from closing when the lever is in the normal "run" position.
Since you mention it, my own front spindle spins (weakly) backwards during normal projection. I'm going to check this out with someone who knows these machines much better than me.Last edited by Steve Klare; May 07, 2023, 11:09 AM.

My friend, who is pretty big on Pageants says the reverse reel spin is normal to these machines and does no harm.
He's also said these aren't easy to work on. I haven't had the pleasure so far, and I'm not in a hurry!
What's interesting with mine is there is a schematic inside the back cover. I can see bits and pieces of it with a flashlight, but until I tear the machine down (...once again, no hurry!) I won't be able to see all of it.
