I just dug out an old Elmo 16-CL Deluxe Optical and was trying to get it running again. All of the rubber rollers have disintegrated and will need to be replaced which is a usual problem I have read, but I have another problem that I can't solve. This model has the push buttons instead of the switch to control ON/OFF etc. When I plug the projector in it starts to play right away. The buttons have no affect on it. The motor and bulb work so I have to assume the voltages are correct. I have taken the switch apart and checked each switch and they all open and close properly. I have traced it back to the main relay and it seems to be fine as well but more testing is needed with it. Is this a common problem with these? Is there a fix for this issue? I have tested most of the components on the switch board and they are good so it may be the chip.
Does anyone have a schematic for this particular projector? I have downloaded the service and user manual for a 16-CL and found a lot of similar things but nothing on the switch board.
Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer. It is greatly appreciated! Thankfully with our recent lock down I have time to get these projects going again! A silver lining in a bad situation!
