  • Bell & Howell 1592 problem replacing bulbs

I have to warn you there's some strange guy trying to ask questions now. I've been reading for quite some time, now you have to put up with my random comments.
I got this projector for next to nothing. I thought I would dedicate using it for silent. After a clean and lube it was working nicely until the bulb blew. I would estimate it worked for several hours until it did. I got a batch of four. The first one I put in I could tell immediately it was dim as soon as it turned on. Then it went to a dull orange and then completely out within 30 seconds. I cleaned the contacts and metered the socket. The voltage appeared correct. 21v on low and 24v on high. I tried another one and it did the exact same thing. Maybe I got a couple extra seconds out of it. I wondered if this sounded familiar to anyone and what else would I check next ? They are new old stock. Can there be a possibility having a bad batch of bulbs ? Am I missing anything else ? I have only a couple more to try so I'm afraid of using more unless I have all my bases covered. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to have future topics lined up too.

Regrettably the lamps for a 1592 are now obsolete so any dealer's stocks may now be old.
You said that it once worked OK, so it does seem that your "new" lamps are faulty
