  • Bell and howell worm gear 3d printer

Hi for some time now I have been looking for a program to make my own worm gears for the bell and howell on my 3d printer.
I have given the original gear to peaple and no one seems to be able to set up a file for me to print them.
at the moment I'm having them turned on a cnc machine but would like to try out a 3d printed one but unfortunately im not any good with the 3d software would anyone in the UK know of anyone that could help.

From my knowledge of the plastic used in 3d printing, it would not be suitable for making worm gears. It would wear very quickly because it is soft compared to the hard plastic normally used. I cannot understand why the original metal worm gears were replaced in the first place!

I know other parts are made from 3D printing and have been successful but I think some things like films guides etc could be quite damaging to film.
Were there not metal version of the worm gears made?

This is actually a multi start thread, and would be relatively straight forward to do on a cnc turning centre, it cuts one thread, indexes the head, and then starts the process again, fascinating to watch this process..........
