Hi - I was screening a print the other day and the lamp on my Eiki gave up the ghost - I replaced it and the same thing happened - the exciter lamp is working and the sound is fine but no light output - any ideas ?
Might be just a double bad luck (rarely, but not totally impossible).
If you have a multimeter, just poking the probe into the lamp socket to check the voltage first. It would be a tad higher than the rated 24v when not loaded which is perfectly normal. But if it's waaay too high (27v for example), then something's really wrong then.
Hi David
Had a similar problem a couple of months ago, the lamp died I replaced with new one, that one blew immediately closely followed by yet another. I quickly checked voltage at the holder , all ok , put in the third one which worked fine. I can only assume that the two that blew were faulty. They were top brand A231 Xenophot. Maybe yours is a similar issue, it’s never happened to me before , there’s a first time for everything !
