  • Elf 16mm projectors

    Wonder if you can help…
After 40 16mm-fallow-years I now have two 16mm Elf projectors. They’re both labelled Nidec Eiki. I've been told one of the projectors is an RM1 and the other an RM2. Is the only difference that one has optical and magnetic sound, and the other is only optical? Or are there other differences?
On both projectors the reverse belts and the belts from the electric motor to the “drive shaft” (for want of a better description) are broken or very perished. Could you advise where I go to buy replacements please.
Also the sprung pin that locks the spool arms in place are not popping out to hold the take up spool arms in place. Should I dismantle the fitting they’re in, or is there a simple way to free them up.
    Many thanks.
    Peter.

Does the motor pulley looks like it'll accept round belt?

If yes then you're lucky. You can then replace that with a proper size o-ring found in any hardware store. That's how I had the replacement belts for my Eiki SLII.

Regarding the reel arm lock pin I believe that's just a matter of gummed up grease. Since it's by no means a critical part, you may simply do away with a can of WD-40 to free it up and that' it.
