A couple of years ago I purchased two brand new Singer Telex 16mm projectors. Military surplus both in mint condition. Projected extremely smooth and great machines. Very easy on film. One I put away for storage and ran the other. Never a problem. Recently I pulled out the second, to give it some running time. Again it ran and projected very smoothly until it lost its loop on a bad slice. It then proceeded to chew up the sprocket holed pretty badly on the following part of the film that was in shape prior to projection. Destroyed them. Tried a second time with a different film, same results. Investigating the problem I believe it is the read sprocket drive that is causing the problem. While it looks perfectly fine and new, something is getting out of sync. Does anyone have any knowledge of this problem? Again a brand new projector and a shame to even chance running films through it. Thanks
