  • Replacement transformer or LED substitution for 6v 10watt viewer/editor bulbs

My Elmo 912S editor has had the bulb power supply fail. I wonder if anyone has ever replaced these dim viewer bulbs with an LED light source or some other jury-rigged light source?

The only thing that I would be aware of is the Voltage and Wattage of the current lamp. Most editors use a 6 Volt 10 Watt lamp, and a lot of the LEDs require a somewhat higher voltage meaning that you would maybe have to replace not only the current lamp, but also the transformer as well. A PWM unit would cost a few dollars I guess, and you might have to use a diffuser to get rid of bright spots.

    Hope this helps,
    Dan
