Wanted: optical sound excitor lamps for Eumig M&O 810D projector

What type do you need? There are several different exciter lamps on Ebay, too.

I'll have to open her up, but if I remember correctly, it was fairly small for an excited lamp

Hi Osi,

If this machine is Eumig Mark S O&M, there is a owner's manual for it (in German) on the 'net that says the lamp part number is 736.1740/4 and the rating is 4volts@.75A. Something's telling me this is a Eumig part number (-how they keep you coming back for spares!)

I'm seeing a selection of lamps that are 4volts@.75A. The difference among them seems to be mostly the orientation of the filament.

I think you are going to need to take the lamp out and see what kind of information you can get from it. (-and maybe post some pictures.) We are interested in the base and the orientation of the filament and the size of the envelope.

There's a decent chance when you see the thing in person you'll see the code marked on it.

It could even come down to emailing the Eumig museum in Vienna and seeing if they have a generic part number for this lamp in their archives.
