I'm looking for a Beaulieu 708 Stereo Studio - latest model with digital counter.
Can add my Elmo GS12000MKIII to it as an deposit.
Not neccesary of course.
Good Luck! Ive been looking for almost 10 years. I found one once but it was not “New” as described and it was burning fuses and ‘smoking’ when I received it. They are hard to find, well at least for me.
I know that one, but on the photo's it looks like it has been through a lot.
Also the counter is not digital, so it is a much older version.
I think the metal reel holders are placed by himself as well.
A while back, there was one for sale here for a while even and I regrat not jumping on it, but I was looking for perfection and the counter was not that nice.
How stupid of me. https://www.reelmagicfilmforum.com/t...very-rare.html
Zooming on roller picture, I did NOT observed cracks of the Roller rubber sleeve. Brown deposit (trips magnet dusts) is common and can be cleaned out with alcool . This roller looks to be good.
For what I can see by the pictures, "Sound Mode" switch is setted on "Mono" (Green LED off) and only "Track 1" is selected.
This machine shows a good looking overall condition.
I agree with Dominique, to find one of these machines now for this price you will have to be very lucky. There are three of them for sale on Ebay Germany at the moment. These are just the 708 EL CD-Stereo model, two of them are around €700 and the third at €1,300. There is also a mint one for sale on Bd-cine.com for €1,800.
The problem now is these machines have become desirable in later years, since I purchased mine the price has doubled.
If you are looking for a 708 EL CD-Stereo-Studio model I think the prices now start around €2,000, don't mention the 708 Stereo-HPL- Studio or the 708 HTI, I have seen these advertised recently for €10,000!!
I guess it will be down to being in the right place at the right time.
I mean, he wrote this (I used google translation)
"Basically, you have the option of dubbing sound from track 1 to track 2, but I only used the projector for the demonstration, so I can't say whether the soundtrack still works."
So I'm not sure.
Many times people sell projectors on the market, they say 'I cannot check if it works" and after buying, it does not work.
I became causious because of that
I have seen these advertised recently for €10,000!!

The one for 10,000 was the 708 Studio HTI and it came with a ton of regular 150 watt bulbs, HTI bulbs, extra reels, etc. It was a very comprehensive kit. I know because I was in contact with the seller. It was tempting but I already have an HTI- just wanted one with the LED meters!
The HTI's usually sell for $2500 and up. Highest I saw that sold, besides the one at 10,000 (Don't know if it sold.. it just disappeared one day) was an HTI Studio for 3500 Euro.. I wanted to get it but the seller wouldn't ship out of Germany.
The problem with purchasing some of those HTI models is that they made more than a few different versions. Some have a built in dowser to cut the light but it keeps the bulb on when the machine is stopped, some have no dowser so the bulb shuts off when the machine is stopped. Not good for smaller reels. Some of the HTI's came from the factory with both speakers intact and in others they were modded after for HTI and one speaker was removed. Some had the lamp ballast connected to the base of the machine and some had it as a portable power brick. I find the Beaulieu 708 machines to be some of the best ones ever made but many of them need servicing. With some other projector models they can run with minimum servicing. Not the Beaulieu- a very precise machine that needs to be in top shape to run properly. I've owned 2 HTI's, and about 3 Halogen models. They all needed servicing when I got them and one of them was New Old Stock purchased from a shop in Sweden. BTW- if your machine needs servicing the only person I truly trust to do the work is Bjorn of Beaulieu Sweden. His work is impeccable, he was trained by Beaulieu, and when you use a 708 serviced by him it will work like it is supposed to as new from the factory. If I ever find another 708 Studio it will be sent to him first. If he retires.. I will retire my Beaulieu!
