Eumig 807 D tape head unit

Hi Everyone

So this evening's investigation has shown that the Eumig 807D needs a new head unit as strangely it is completely dead after testing further. I've attached some photos of the head unit, if anybody has a scrappy 807D or even just the head unit from one then it would be a great help. The whole unit comes away along with the N-S switch which has a lead that plugs into the amplifier.

Hello Bren. When a magnetic head shows wear its usually the record side that fails first, followed by the play back gradually fading away. That's what I've found over the years. Never had one go on any of my 800 range machines.

Best thing to do is have the magnetic head re Lapped (repaired). Various companies offer the service and it wont break the bank.
