Interesting Looking Bolex Super 8 Sound Projector on Goodwill
If it's like the earlier Eumig sound types it may now have hardened rubber on the drive discs making for poor drive, sometimes stalling, burning out film frames. Often the discs can be roughened up to get them going again but they will eventually fail. These Eumigs were otherwise nicely built overall but the sound models were vulnerable to considerable mains hum induced into the playback head. This was common to many sound 8mm projectors partly due to a compact design which placed hum producing components like a powerful mains transformer and mains powered motor close to the pickup head.
