  • Elvis on 8mm Book

    Hi
I’ve been researching for a book on the world of ELVIS 8mm film. I obviously have the films we know and love from DERANN, RED FOX, UNIVERSAL 8, VIACOM, KEN etc and am now looking to private collectors for the odd stuff that got past me or I have only read about!

I have been talking to many who were in the trade at the time and some great stories and behind the scenes facts have emerged. Flyers and adverts have also started to flood in.
I was hoping you would be interested in helping. If so please contact us at info@8mmelvis.com
    Regards

        Hi Vince,

        and all.

I echo what Mike says as well Vince about 8mm releases to date although you probably are aware. Didn't you work for Derann at one time?

I've always been a big Elvis fan and had some excellent 16mm full length prints, the last being "This Is Elvis" (Theatrical).

Last I had on 8mm was the Viacom - "Paradise Hawaiian Style!" Ironically on a Graceland, Memphis , trip in 2006 met the co-star Suzannah Leigh selling her "kiss and tell" memoirs over at the old - now gone - Graceland shops!.

Hoping to visit Graceland again for the 5th time next April as part of the Florida trip.

For any other Elvis fans out there on this forum - I know there are a few here. I must say that Vince and his Pal have a brilliant Podcast that is one of the best researched and is also thoroughly entertaining and with some great guest starts, etc its called "Talking Elvis" and really I cannot recommend it enough! ( And no I have not been paid to say it! Lol)

Vince, had a nice little program the other day speaking about 8mm Elvis collecting - I think Vince was a big collector form the same U.K.generation as myself. (mid late 70's)

Hope you get what you are looking for Vince and cant wait for the next Podcast. I'm always happy to have a chat on air if you wanted to p.m. me.

        Take care all.

P.S just enjoying on Kindle the new autobiography by Elvis, U.K. and Europe, fan-club founder - Todd Slaughter. ( he purchased it from Albert Hand) Its a great read up to now I must say. If you ever get to see the last CBS TV special that Elvis did - "In Concert" you can see Todd speaking to Elvis and giving him an award in 1977.
