Trevor, I love BH as well, but if Walton Films released this full length, you may wish to buy this version instead, as, when I pursued "Sons of the Desert", I found that "Fraternally Yours" (a Walton print), was visibly better and had much sharper sound with less hiss to the soundtrack. However, all prints of Way Out West have had marginal focus. I don't know if Derann rereleased these. If Derann did, the image quality may be better. Just helping.

Trev... so you returned to 8mm?.. good to hear that. If I am not mistaken I was the one who bought that very title from you. My friend in Auckland who collected your entire films for me.
Some of your films are now living peacefully in New Caledonia since a new collector was interested with 8mm and bought my ST-1200 and films.
That's how a collection travels 😃

The original Walton prints were 4x400 for Way out West but the Derann reprints were 3x400 because of thinner film stock. The Derann and if you get a clean Walton version are much superior in print and sound to the grainier scratchy sound Blackhawk prints. The Walton prints are slightly edited the bulk of it being the Stagecoach scene which isn’t a bad thing and I think there is a shorter cut when they are retrieving deed and Mary Roberts. Overall they are not noticeable and don’t distract you.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I will contact Phil Russ. Winbert, eight years ago we moved into a retirement village-that is when I quit most of my stuff ;-)A place called Settlers Village,Albany Auck(Google it).AS a matter of interest,I did locate the 3D Movie Viewer I was after for so long.A weird toy that is rather like a Viewmaster stereo Viewer-only it shows a super 8mm 3D film!
