Thank you!
I know for fact the man who made my copy of Titanic is releasing this copy of Empire strikes back although I have not seen the print per se I am so pleased with my copy of titanic should anyone purchase the Star Wars movie you will get a very good well-made print the seller is very trustworthy
They can also be ordered new through Steve at The Reel Image as well. I think the price is about the same but with this pandemic it might be awhile till new copies are received so best to check with Steve on the time frame.
Chip, are you saying this is the same seller you purchased your Titanic from or at some point he will be offering the same title.
I found the early Star Wars prints to be soft and disappointing, not reference quality. If this "is" the same seller, I would expect he is using a different source. How was the sound on your Titanic, did it lose sync at all in any spots. For his asking price you could get these brand new on 16mm. Nice to see someone making the effort to bring new features to the S8 format.
Lee , did you men to put another link up there? I don't see it.
I'm so glad that i bought my print of Empire when I did, for what i did.
I once had a cineavision scope print of the full feature of "Empire Strikes Back", which was probably printed by the same person or persons that did the cineavision print of the full feature of Star Wars (non Derann 1977 version).
The only problem with that one, was that it was printed on Kodak SP, and it was already just starting to submit to a lack of perfect blacks already ... but boy! Was that rare?
Is this guy selling all three Derann Star Wars films? If that is the case, 4,000.00 isn't a total rip off, especially if "Return of the Jedi" is one of the good prints and not one of the bluish ones. I once ran into a bluish print and it, for me, was really hard to even watch!
The star wars esb and rotj collection bein sold on ebay now is all Spanish sound the guy selling esb on his own is a different seller and i hope hes as trustworthy a seller as chip says as i bought it and havent heard from him since the end of the auction
