In searching the web I get any different looking bulbs coming up. Any advice or bulb model number appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Randall,
There should be a plate somewhere on the projector that describes the bulb (-maybe inside the lamp house?). if you can find that information, that has to be what's most trustworthy.
According to these folks (where I buy my own lamps), your machine should take a code DHJ lamp:
https://www.replacementlightbulbs.com/lampdhj250w.html
They have two left at $75 each plus shipping.
This Ebay seller has 3 of them at $34.00 each plus shipping.

Thank you Steve. This says 500w max. Would you think 250w could be adequate?
My other concern is this appears to be a 2 pin socket vs 4 pin like many I see when google searching for the bulb.
My goal with this which I paid $20 but didn’t know it had no bulb is to view and evaluate a bag of old family movies to see if they’re good enough to invest in a digital conversion.2 Photos

Hi Randall,
I also see 500W lamps available NOS on eBay.
I'd say 250W will probably serve you better. Very often the compromise you make when you go for a brighter bulb with the same cooling is shorter life, and at the prices these lamps are going for, more hours per bulb is a good thing!
More watts is best on a big screen. If you keep it reasonably small, less watts does the job just fine.Last edited by Steve Klare; May 07, 2024, 05:17 PM.

Kodak said 300 Watt is good. Do not use lamps of more than 500 Watt power, the projector is not able to cool enough.
In case of interest I have written an article about the Showtime 8 in my mothertongue German. Here it is. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RFQ...usp=drive_link
