  • Eumig Mark S 810d - loop restorer being missed

Hi everyone, when using my Eumig Mark S 810d machine I have noticed that the film now stops running through the loop restorer and now immediately heads from the gate to the soundhead - does anyone know why this may be happening and how to stop this?

    Thanks!

Assuming this is Super 8 and assuming you have the correct gate and sprocket cogs on and also assuming you are keeping the looper down during threading, your film will not go the "long way", which is only for STD8.

Thank you David, that is all correct. Do you know why the 'long way' is only for STD8? I am noticing some Super 8 films not being pulled properly through and looking shakey which I have been attributing to this

The STD 8 plate pushes the film via the "long way". If I recall it is to do with sound sync on STD8 striped film.
The Super 8 film may have slightly shrunk. Sometimes just running the film is enough to allow it to play ok on a subsequent run.

Jacob. Are you holding the loop restorer down until the Film emerges from the rear of the projector? Also moving the sound head slider switch to the correct position for each type of film? The only problems I have ever had with my machine is that it is quite fussy with varying thickness of some film leaders. It is a pity they did away with slot loading of the earlier models.

This is a big reason I fully trust my Eumig Mark S 709 at every loading of film! That semi auto loading system cannot be beat! Works perfect each and every time! Plus, the twist to focus lenses on the early models is a big plus when watching movies.
