Here's a rarity! After almost two decades of use, my beloved Eumig 926 stereo projectors take up reel is slowing down, gradually over the last month or so. I am thinking, hoping, that it is the belt getting a little too much age and needing to be replaced. On the plus side, my Eumig for parts has a belt in there, but giving it a quick perusal, it looks like I would have to "gut" my projector to get my belt replaced. For Paul Adsett or anyone else in the know ... Help!

If it turns really easily, I think that's an indicator that you need more compression on the spring. Its probably a trial and error situation, but in my 926 the adjustment is fully clockwise and then backed off anticlockwise by about one turn.
I have found it's necessary to sand down the edges of my take up reels, so that they don't scrape up against things, which slows down the take up reels.
Ah, the joys of Eumig's coaxial reel design!!
