In the case of Jedi, as with several other "imports", I believe that the lab here held "imported" negatives for printing. Certainly, Jedi was available to order until the end.
I did hear that Derann did produce prints in the UK lab, stripe and sound them for a foreign company and were allowed to sell in the UK as "Imports". "Dracula has Risen from the Grave" was one example given, but that had the titles in German.
