I searched but I could not find a later explanation. Anyone know? Could this be the same issue I'm having with my Chinon 7500?
I've noticed that with other machines, I've never had anything close to an unsteady picture with color film. It's always been b&w films that needed it, and for some reason always a Blackhawk. Never had issues with U8 or Castle. (Not including the Chinon here.) I'm guessing Blackhawk's labs didn't always slit films properly.
I have also noticed that my Elmo ST-1200HD has issues with polyester stock sometimes, even with lubrication.
I like to limit lubrication due to the fumes.

The Fumeo 9119 [...] BUT the BW film stock must be lubricated (I can explain later why).
