  • Raynox 8mm Projector - please can someone advise

Good morning. I am new here so finding my way! We have come across a large box of 8mm films from my wife's childhood which we'd love to be able to view. I have acquired a Raynor projector - Japanese? It seems in good physical shape but has the old Japanese 'kettle' lead connector. I have got inside the works and can easily solder a new mains cable into it but I though I should check....and this is my question....can anyone advise about polarity please? I attach a photograph. We have red and brown....I am assuming red to be live and brown to be neutral. It may not be critical as it is AC but thought I'd ask for advice please. Many thanks. Click image for larger version

Following my earlier post I managed to work out the answer to my own question....thank you to all who read the post. I have taken red to be live and brown to be neutral and the projector has come alive! I have some adjustments and fine tuning to do and, ideally, to find a manual. If anyone has any ideas about finding a manual please do let me know if you have a moment. Thank you.

      Hi Andrew,
Looks like a RAYNOX 707 [dual gauge] if so have a copy of instructions which I could email just P.M. me.
Generaly fairly straight forward so long as you get the gauge change colour code.
Easy to work on, drive belt cheap and readily available,

If yours has a different model number, no problem they were all basically the same.

      Regards TOM
