  • Blackpool 2024 Updates - one month to go!

With just over one month to go until we kick off the 46th Blackpool Film Collectors' Convention, we wanted to update you on what's happening this year. We've some exciting news!

    Second Dealers' Room added
First off, we had had so many dealers wanting to attend that we have opened a second Dealers' room in the hotel. All 34 tables were full in the main room by August, and now our second room - with an additional 12 tables - is full as well. We're really encouraged by the support from dealers and now it's up to all of us to support them in November!

New for 2024: Sunday Night Film Show
Second, and new for 2024, we've added a Sunday night Film Show to round off the whole weekend. It starts at 8pm in the hotel and, like the Friday and Saturday shows, entry is free-of-charge. Film Collector Phil Slater has offered to be projectionist and the idea is to screen some of the purchases made at the Film Fair. There's more information here:

If you are thinking of making a whole weekend of it (and why not?), there are special hotel rates available for Film Convention attendees. At the time of writing, there are still rooms available, but don't leave it too long! The Convention happens on the same weekend as the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing team are filming in Blackpool and it's always busy. Find out how to book rooms at the Grand Hotel here: https://blackpoolfilmconvention.co.uk/visit/
