Are the reg.8 / super 8 sprockets / gates in the 700/800 series interchangeable between the 2 series?

No. Different gates, and cogs. In fact 822 and 824 only have one front and rear cog and fixed back cogs. IE cogs on for SUPER and off for STD.

I think the 822/824 might be different from the 810D and earlier, then. I think, but am not 100% sure, that the 810D parts are compatible with the 700 series. For the 810D, the sprockets for both Super 8 and Standard 8 are self-contained and come completely off. Also, the gate/pressure pad are in pairs -- so you have 4 pieces in all.
