Modern day Italian Distributor ?

Just to expand on comments made on another thread I have made (My Fair Lady Trailer in the 8mm Reviews section) which would send me "off topic," it appears that during the 1970's there were many super 8 distributors in Italy. A lot of the output being, apparently, of pretty poor quality, and the print origins somewhat questionable. However, Doug Meltzer made a remark that there were also some very high quality prints made, too. I am aware that there are many "rare" titles originating from Italy. The full length version of "My Fair Lady" being one of them.

My question is..... are there either any distributors still in business* OR does anyone know of any Italian super 8 shops still in existence that we could contact for these prints? A sort of Italian Classic Home Cinema store ?

* with the exception of Alberto although I appreciate he is not a distributor (I think)

It would be interesting to know. There were still feature length prints available from there until mid 1980s. If it was a modern film these prints were good but older titles such as James Bond or Disney Dumbo comes to mind their print had neg marks and also seemed to have fade towards pinkness built into them.

If I am not mistaken E.T (1982) is available from Italian companies. It is a legal print.

Apart from the legal ones, Italian prints are also known made by illegal parties, and this was done on Kodachrome film stocks (which normaly were used for reversal prints). In the old 8mm forum someone wrote that during that time people would take 35mm prints from Cinema and did (contact) printing with that Kodachrome film stocks.

I believe if that Kodachrome stocks was used, it would not get faded now. And that is probably those rare prints came from.
