    Jane,

Here is an 8 year old post which discusses value:

      Hi!

There’s an ElmoScope II on eBay for only 200€ and currently no bidders: https://www.ebay.de/itm/235805164330
Please keep in mind that you can search on eBay for actually sold items and their prices, too, and that there are at least two different versions of this attachment („I“ was most likely made by Sankor, „II“ was most likely made by Kowa).

Thank you both. I'll take a look at the post. Dad's lens is in a pouch and boxed

ID:	109450 Elmoscope lens first version is longer bodied, the elmoscope II is clearly marked as such and is shorter. Either should fetch £200-£300 if in good condition.

            Hi Jane.
As you can imagine it is very difficult to place an exact value on it, as there are many people out there trying their luck by putting crazy prices on them. £800-£1000 + !!!
From selling one a couple of years ago, I would estimate between £300 - £350 in order to sell it.
I can imagine having belonged to your dear dad, it would be in excellent condition, so go for the top price, as you can always drop the price down.

By the way I was so happy to see that the ODEON Weston-super-mare has been saved, and is now being operated as a arts centre. I think it held a special place in your father's heart.

            Steve.

              Hi Steve

Thanks very much. Yes, like all Dad's equipment, it is indeed in excellent condition. Yes, Dad was very upset when he heard it was closing, as he worked there as a projectionist as a teenager and later as a relief projectionist in the 70s and 80s.

I'm also looking to value his Buckingham ST-1 Serial no: 85913 9.5mm conversion from 16mm.

              Thanks
              Jane

I used to sell Elmoscipe I #1280. As others have mentioned, this is a lower grade from its brother Elmoscope II. Both lenses had significant value 5-10 years ago but now seem to be decreasing.

What made the scope lenses was high at that time was not because us, the projectionists but those photographers that took benefit of the scope lenses for their particular photo style. But in today's world of photography, they have had their own scope lenses with more affordable prices (used to be it was super expensive). So now leave to us, the projectionists who are using it and most of us already have had it.

My selling post above was 8 years ago and since then I have sold around 40s lenses and my last lot of these lenses was sold 3 months ago via Ebay. There were 2 of them and the sold price was about $195 (with only one bid respectively). The price did not go up since there was no bid wars meaning less interesting item.

Mind you my lenses were brand-new items, with all packings and accesories to prove it.

So you can value your own now if it is a used ones.

                  cheers,
                  winbert

I think this one is low-priced because of dust. Looking at pictures you can't tell if it is just on the surface or inside?
