I recently acquired a Eumig Mark S 804 D projector (dual 8 with 2-track recording/playback). I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing, for the first time in 45 years, the 50' student film I made with the school's projector that used both main and balance stripe! (I have other Super 8 sound projectors that do not play the balance stripe.)
It appears in good shape (though needs a good cleaning, and a new lamp).
A couple questions…
This evidently uses an EFP lamp. I see several listed online, at reasonable prices.
I'm intrigued by the Osram 54192-EFP/XMR16, which claims to have a life of 600 hours (rather than 50 hours). However, I wonder if this is at a sacrifice of brightness. None of the bulb reference websites I find list the lumens output. Is this lamp good to use in a projector (as opposed to a microscope or the other uses it is sold for)?
Also: I took apart the film gate, and am not sure I reassembled it correctly! The "film pressure pad" half (the front section, used with both gauges) came apart somewhat in my hands.
This assembly is NOT well illustrated in the manual (which I do have). Is there a repair manual or other exploded view of the parts that can be found anywhere (I did not find it)?
If that's not available -- could some kind soul show me photos of their pressure pad, from different angles? If you have the same (or similar) model, that is.
Thanks for any help with these issues!
