Thank you!
Recently obtained a Eumig Mark 802-d and it states it can play both formats but all the sprockets only fit super 8.
How would I go about running 8mm content
Hi Bill... If the standard 8 film gate is not located in the front cover then you won't be able to play standard 8 mm. If it is there use this video to show how to make the swap of the gate and the sprockets.

The standard 8 gate is missing
If anyone has a spare normal 8 gate that would be greatly appreciated.
What about the sprockets? they don't fit normal 8mm either...
I suppose I could 3d print those tho...
It is NOT just the Gate that is changed but ALSO THE COG WHEELS.
On later Eumigs, 822 824, when the front and rear cogs were removed the Standard 8 cog was a fixture underneath but I'm fairly certain on this model it used separate cogs.
IMPORTANT, when removing the pressure plate and gate that the dot on the wheel on the side is aligned with the dot. Failure to do this will invariably cause the sprocket pin to snap...and finding a repairer is very difficult.
BTW you do not switch between the formats. The switch on the front is for audio when a Std8 film has a sound stripe.

I have no need for std8 sound so thank god for that.
I have an 804D, but the video link that was provided Janice Glesser (which was super helpful for me btw, so thank you!) shows the same setup for the 802D - the super 8 sprockets set on the standard 8 sprockets. So if your setup supports super 8 now, you just need to pull off the sprockets to reveal the fixed sprockets underneath them. Let me know if some pics would help.
