Hello Guys, I haven't posted for a bit. On happy news. I'll post some pictures up soon but going through some of my old stuff and found I've got I think the full feature of Lethal Weapon which I didn't know I had. On some disturbing/good news depending on your point of view in the same bin I found I've also got what I think is the full feature of Saturday night fever. Sadly one of the scenes is quite disturbing and I cannot show that film in public. Veterans might know the scene I refer. As a result I'll probably be looking at either selling or preferably swap for something of similar value. As I type this I don't have any photos yet but they are a bit red and I haven't check every frame. Just putting it out there and seeing if someone might be interested. I'm not getting out of 8mm so would prefer a trade.

If you look on Wikipedia, it describes how it came out with an R rating and after an initial run was pulled from distribution for 90 days and then re-released pretty radically edited down to PG (They replaced entire scenes to clean up the language used.). The "adult activities in the backseat of a car" are part of what went. (-and thanks for the euphemism, Osi! -we need no details here!)
-and I'm with Joel here: I wouldn't show that to an audience either!

Saturday Night Fever was released in two theatrical versions here in Australia. The original R rating (over 18 years only) contains the rape scene mentioned. It was later edited due to the films' popularity with younger audiences to an M rated (recommended for Mature audiences, but no age restriction) version. Several of the large distributors here also had Super 8 features for hire alongside their 16mm hire prints.

Hello All, Yes to those who correctly surmised it is the scene in the back seat of the car to which I'm referring. I didn't even know I had this film. As I type this I'm about do a run of the films and take photos. The moderators needn't worry I won't be posting shots of that scene either for the same reason I cannot show the film in public. It's plausible that someone could do an edit and remove that scene. In fact I just purchased an Agfa S8 tape splicing unit to replace some of the leaders on my films I suppose I could just edit it out using that. I'll go through the reels and see what's there and the condition.I will post an update. From what I can gather it appears as a 7 reel set with 2 reels missing but I'll confirm that after. Joel.

Hello All, Here is some of the pictures I mentioned. As you can see the film is a bit red and seems to have scratches from a previous owner. The reels seem to be a mixture of 400ft and 600ft. The reels are,
Reel 1 400ft
Reel 2 400ft
Reel 3 600ft
Reel 4 400ft
Reel 5 Missing
Reel 6 & 7 combined onto 600ft.
As far as I can tell the entire film is there except for the scene where the boys fight with the rival gang at clubhouse. Having not scene the entire movie nor knowing about the Marketing fims release series I was hoping someone in the forum might know a bit about these releases and what was available. I know there was a shorter 3 film selected scene version however this seems more than that and almost the entire film but has clearly been altered from factory. Also the reels are all different brands and not consecutive in there order. Any help is appreciated. Also any advice on the correct tape for my agfa s8 splicer would be welcome or even direct me to the correct area of the forum for that!. Thanks in advance Joel.

Hello David, Thanks for your reply. In fact I'm not sure reel 5 is missing and why I was hoping someone out there might know more than me. As mentioned it appears like the digest has for sure been altered from its factory state. However not knowing what's supposed to be there makes it hard. As far as I can tell the only thing I know is missing is the fight with the gangs however it's plausible this was not on the original marketing films release and I have no way of knowing.
