  • Abbott & Costello meet The Creature from the Black Lagoon

Have you noticed that a few Super 8 films on eBay are constantly relisted at the same (ridiculously high) price for what has been literally Years?!
Case in point, "Abbott & Costello meet The Creature from the Black Lagoon" the kinescope skit from the show that "Fun Antiques" just can't get enough Fun of relisting for $299. Well lo and behold, another print came up recently for $65.00. Oh no what is Fun Antiques going to do now?...

I wish I could find a collection of films locally for a fair price. So far I only have my home movie collection from my childhood.

I saw that too, Mark. From what the high priced copy stated, this was from a segment of the Abbott and Costello TV show, as, there was no Abbott and Costello feature when they encounter the Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Ebay members sometimes are kind of strange things. I once listed unknown 8mm contents but put a high price on it just for fun, and a member bid on it and ... paid!!

On the other hand, I recently listed some CDs. I have checked the sold prices and currently listed prices on Discogs therefore had an idea how much was the market price for them. As this is an auction, my starting price was always $1 less from the lowest price listed on Discogs. ..... BUT.. I also set up a buy it now (BIN) price which was always $175.

Guess what..? There were 2 members hit the BIN... while actualy that 2 CDs had been sitting there for weeks. If they just bid, I am sure no one will come to over bid them. They just did not have time to wait.

So this is why those silly prices kept comming on Ebay.

        cheers,
        Winbert

Abbott never even “meets” the Creature in this skit, but A&C both meet Frankenstein’s monster…again!

Thanks for that correction, Shorty. I knew it was from one of their TV appearances. 😃
