  • Eumig 804D Pressure Pad

I have 2x film guide for my projector, one that has the “S” designation on the edge and the other is not marked. I’m assuming the latter is for standard 8mm. But I only have a single pressure pad. It has a red sticker in the edge but no reference to super or standard. Should I have a separate pressure pad for each type of film? If so, how can I tell which one I have? Both film guides seem to marry up to the pressure pad that I have. Also, the Super 8 film guide that I have, has a piece of plastic at the bottom of the guide that extends towards the front of the project at an angle - see pic below. The Super 8 guide either doesnt have that piece, or it snapped off. Any guidance/insight is greatly appreciated.

    *CORRECTION*
Also, the STANDARD 8mm film guide that I have, has a piece of plastic at the bottom of the guide that extends towards the front of the projecter at an angle - see pic below.

The plastic protrusion on the standard 8 gate asembly is to divert the film into a longer loop, as the picture to sound separation is greater (56 frames) for standard 8 than the 18 for super 8 otherwise the sound would be out of sync. Teh super 8 one doesn't need it so it was never there, not snapped off.
